Paul Horton, Stephen Moore and Karl Brown scored half-centuries for title-chasing Lancashire against Somerset.

The home side resumed on 314-5 but were dismissed for 380 as James Hildreth (186) added 25 to his overnight score, Gary Keedy claimed 4-57.

Horton (50), Moore (68) and Brown (60) helped Lancashire to 247-3 at stumps, trailing by 133 runs.

Lancashire will be buoyed by a against leaders Warwickshire at The Rose Bowl.

The visitors began the day well, dismissing Somerset just after lunch, and then had a solid start with the bat.

Horton, who in the process passed 1,000 first-class runs for the season put on 104 for the first wicket with Moore, before Moore teamed up with Brown to add 102 for the second wicket.

Just when Lancashire seemed in control, the dismissals of Moore and Brown halted their progress but there was controversy over the latter's dismissal.

Peter Trego dived forward to take a low catch off Murali Kartik (3-60) and umpire Peter Willey raised the finger, although the batsman appeared to think the ball had bounced.
