Neil Carter haul puts Warwickshire in charge

Neil Carter's six-wicket haul put Warwickshire in charge on day one of their Division One clash with Lancashire at Liverpool.

Having been 101-2 after a rain delayed start, the hosts were all out at tea for 189 with Stephen Moore hitting 76.

Lancashire claimed an Warwickshire early wicket as Varun Chopra was caught by Moore off Glen Chapple for 14.

Play was abandoned for the day because of bad light with the visitors on 30-1 after 11 overs.

All-rounder Carter took the last six wickets of the hosts' innings for just 30 runs, a career best, in a 53-ball spell.
