Stuart Hall reveals Glenn McCrory role for IBF World title fight
Darlington boxer Stuart Hall has drawn on the wisdom of former world champion Glenn McCrory for this Saturday's IBF title fight with Vusi Malingan.
Durham-born McCrory was the last north east world champion when he won the IBF world cruiserweight crown in 1989.
"I have spoken to Glenn a few times and he has just told me to enjoy the night and believe in myself," the 33-year-old bantamweight told 91热爆 Look North.
"I've heard he might even walk me to ring which could help my confidence."
In July last year, Hall lost to Lee Haskins in Clevedon, his second defeat in 10 months having fallen to Jamie McDonnell in 2011.
But he has come back strongly to record three successive wins.
"I'm obviously aware of the history, and the 25-year weight that has been on Glenn's shoulders," said Hall.
"But I deserve this chance. I had to take some hard fights for poor money and I'm ready to give it everything.
"I believe I will win and that's vital because you have to have that mentality in boxing.
"Some fighters will only ever get one shot and this could be mine."
