Carl Frampton 'excited' by move from promoter Hearn to Warren
European super-bantamweight champion Carl Frampton is targeting a world title fight after leaving promoter Eddie Hearn to join Frank Warren.
Frampton has signed a four-fight deal on the Box Nation channel, starting at Wembley on 20 July with three planned for his home city of Belfast.
Frampton hopes to contest a world title as early as the third fight.
"We felt we were put on the backburner - we need to be made the priority and this is an amazing deal," he said.
"It means I'm definitely going to be boxing in Belfast, which is what I wanted and to be promoted by our team," added the 26-year-old.
"We were waiting too long for things to happen and this is a really fantastic deal.
"I'm a bit closer now to a world title fight - it could be the third or fourth fight in the deal. "
Frampton parted company with Hearn's Matchroom firm on Thursday.
Matchroom said they had severed ties as a potential conflict of interest had arisen with the Northern Irishman's manager, Barry McGuigan, also wanting to be his joint-promoter.
Hearn indicated he was unwilling to share promotional work with former world champion McGuigan.
"We got a better offer from Box Nation while Carl will have more say and control over his career," said McGuigan.
Frampton will fight on the Wembley bill which sees Britain's Dereck Chisora fight unbeaten US heavyweight Malik Scott.
The Belfast man said he "desperately wants" a showdown with British Super Bantamweight champion Scott Quigg, who is managed by Ricky Hatton.
However, Frampton believes the fight will not take place in the near future.
"Certain sections of his camp, although not Ricky Hatton, don't want it because they know what will happen," he said.
"They want a safe fight and I'm not a safe opponent."
