Ireland's Olympic gold medallist Katie Taylor will make her competitive return in Dublin in February.

The 26-year-old from Bray in County Wicklow has opted to remain as an amateur and the bill is being promoted as the Road to Rio.

Organisers say she will have a top-class international opponent.

"It felt like Irish fans took over the arena for my fights at the Olympics so it is great people will have a chance to see me on home soil," said Taylor.

"It seems everyone knows who I am now but I have never been interested in being a celebrity so that has taken some adjusting to.

"I took a few weeks off from training after the Olympics but have been back in the gym for quite a while now and it is good to be back in a routine and training hard again with a fight date to focus on."

Taylor's fight is to take place at the Bord G谩is Energy Theatre in Dublin on 24 February.
