One of Somerset's biggest festivals, Sunrise, is to be held in Herefordshire. The festival was due to take place from 29 May to 1 June however torrential rain caused the main river in the festival's site to flood, leaving hundreds of festival goers disappointed. That was until the organisers of the The Big Chill stepped in and offered Sunrise a field at their event. Sunrise organisers hope ticket holders will be able to make the trek to the Malvern Hills on 1 - 3 August rather than requesting refunds as most of the ticket sales' money has already been spent on infrastructure. "We are hoping that people will be as excited about this as we are and want to join us there," said Sunrise organiser Sophie Docker. "It is the way that people can support our event and that we can assure the continued success of Sunrise. This year was set to be a sell out event for the first time, and it is something that people really love and connect too. "We are a big Sunrise Family that is building all the time, and we really want to carry on into 2009 and beyond.听 If people can help us by taking up this offer it will be so good and it will ensure the survival of the event, and we really hope they do." Much of the planned 2008 Sunrise will be there, however an announcement on the line-up has yet to be made.听 It will have its own access road entrance and space for camping and parking. The arena will be powered by 100% renewable energy and there will be compost toilets, solar showers and saunas. Sunrise's Eco Rangers will also be advising The Big Chill on how they can improve their green credentials. "It is totally fantastic to get the opportunity to celebrate Sunrise style this year, we thought we might not," added Sophie. "It's great to spread the word on the eco stuff and alternative technologies that we are so strong on at Sunrise, further a field. It is an exciting creative project, and will be a festival within a festival, with the special Sunrise magic and dynamic creativity going to the beautiful grounds of Eastnoor Castle. "We will still have our 'rootsey', alternative, underground vibe - we will just have Leonard Cohen and Roots Manuva playing in the field next door!"
