Seen the Somerset Stalactite? 91热爆 Somerset can now be heard on 95.5FM, and to celebrate, a huge number of businesses, individuals, services and products in the county are "turning 95.5". On Monday 13th December, 91热爆 Somerset became available on 95.5FM. To celebrate, we set ourselves the challenge of getting ninety-five-and-a-half organisations, businesses and people to rename something of theirs '91热爆 Somerset' or '95.5'. We've given ourselves three weeks to do it, and with only seven days left, how much of the county has "turned 95.5" so far? Simon Clifford picked the best turned out horse 91热爆 Somerset 95.5FM Selling Hurdles Race at TauntonWe lent our name to the opening race at Taunton Racecourse on Thursday 13th December. Station Manager Simon Clifford judged the 'Best Turned Out Horse' in the race, awarding the prize to one-time winner 'Share My Dreams'. The horse got off to a slow start from the off, racing for most of the way around the track third from last. Share my Dream won the 95.5 hurdle race in Taunton But jockey Harry Skelton eventually pushed 'Share My Dreams' to the front of the pack though, ultimately moving up to first place and winning the race. At odds of 20/1 against, no one was more surprised than the horse's owner. He said: "It's amazing. You always hope for a win, but I certainly didn't think it would happen today. But you just can't tell - that's the joy of sport." 95.5 Second WorkoutListening to the Big Breakfast every morning might be enough to wake some people up, but others may need a bit of exercise. For them, two fitness instructors from Taunton developed the '95.5 second workout'. It doesn't involve any equipment, can be done by pretty much anyone, and only takes a minute and a half! Drew Savage limbers up to read the travel Gyms around the county are using the workout as warm-up routines in their exercise classes, and the Breakfast and Drive teams have both given it a go live in the studio. It might not lead to excessive听weight-loss, but it does provide for a quick giggle! 95.5 Express TrainIt ran for one trip only, travelling between Bishops Lydeard and Minehead, and was an hour late in leaving. But that didn't bother the passengers on the 16:30 '95.5 Express', kindly renamed by West Somerset Railway. Coach-loads of festive revellers rode the train to see 'Dunster by Candlelight', delayed slightly by a fallen tree on the track. The wait didn't dampen spirits though, as one group of passengers proved by breaking into song when the train finally rolled away from the station. 91热爆 Somerset StalactiteIt might not be huge, but our adopted stalactite certainly makes a point. Located in the caves of Wookey Hole near Wells, the ninety-five-and-a-half millimetre piece of rock is adorned by two 91热爆 Somerset signs. Visitors to the caves are invited to send us photos of themselves next to the minute wonder. Snaps can be sent to Somerset@bbc.co.uk. Herdmate 95.5'Big Udder' is a reality programme with a difference; it can only be seen online, it runs for 52 weeks a year, and its contestants don't say much at all. Because they're cows. The site offers constant streaming of the comings and goings on a real life dairy farm in Somerset. The Jersey cows are called 'Herdmates', and to celebrate 91热爆 Somerset's move to FM, the Big Udder team renamed a pregnant cow 'Herdmate 95'. This means, when the new calf is born, it will officially be known as 'Herdmate 95.5' Keep an eye on the website, as 'Herdmate 95.5' prepares to make its debut appearance. 听91热爆 BingoIt was the game the fans had been waiting their bingo-filled lives for. Full of anticipation, daring, and - most importantly - 'BIG MONEY!', 91热爆 Bingo took Taunton by storm. The game, played on a Thursday afternoon, saw three lucky winners take away 91热爆 Somerset goodie-bags, containing a collection of CDs and books. One winner couldn't believe her luck. She said: "I never normally win, so to get an extra prize is lovely". 91热爆 Somerset SantaThe first ever Santa Claus Olympics were held this December, and 91热爆 Somerset adopted one of the entrants. 'Santa Derek' from Aschott became the station's mascot for the day. He led a team of Father Christmases from around the county, who competed in events like 'Rodeo Reindeer', 'Ho-Ho-Hoeing', and the 'Boot Toss'. 91热爆 Somerset SandwichesCoffee shops, cafes and snack bars around the county were keen to celebrate 91热爆 Somerset's move to FM with a special sandwich. Each eatery designed its own unique '91热爆 Somerset Sandwich', with most including ingredients they considered "typically Somerset". Apples, cheddar cheese, and pork were staple fillings in many, while others included items like brie and bacon that are produced in the county. The breakfast crew taste-tested a number of the sandwiches, though with more and more being made available around Somerset each day, a second 'eat-off' has already been planned. Can 95.5 reach 95.5?The challenge has been set for the ninety-five products, services, and organisations to re-brand or rename themselves something to do with '91热爆 Somerset' or '95.5'. More will be happening in the coming weeks - so check back for updates on how Somerset is "turning 95.5". last updated: 31/12/2007 at 10:50 Have Your SayHave you seen the 'Turn 95.5' campaign?
