The Peelers

Find out more about this indie, pop, punk and rock band from Wells, and listen to their tracks.

Who are The Peelers?

Kieran Jefferson on vocals and guitar, Ken Edmonds on guitars and backing vocals; Robin Davey on bass guitars; and Charles Phillips on drums and technology.

Where in Somerset are you from?

Wells

When did you form?

August 2006

How did you get together?

Originally, we were all members of a band called Edible Decorations.

The Peelers

The Peelers know each other from school, and have being playing together in one form or another for over 10 years.

How would you describe your music?

Indie, pop, punk and rock

How did the band gets its name?

Kieran was working as a chef. He was peeling potatoes one day when the name came to him in a flash of... well, boredom really.

The Peelers

It's also a nod to John Peel, a hero for all musicians.

Who are your musical influences?

Any and all music.

What is your most memorable gig so far?

A charity gig called The Pink Party.

An entirely insane (yet appreciative) audience saw stage invasions and a whole lot of crowd surfing (see our MySpace for photos and a video - the link's on the right of this page).

Where would you most like to play?

Anywhere people would come to see us.

Finally, tell us some interesting facts about yourself

As Edible Decorations, with a slightly different lineup, we played the Pilton Party and Glastonbury Festival.
