The Baby Borrowers on 91Èȱ¬ THREE follows five teenage couples as they try out adult life, including 'parenting' babies and toddlers. Speaking to 91Èȱ¬ Somerset Sound's Jess Rudkin about the experience, Carl Elliot and Kayleigh Strawford said: "We had to look after children, plus go to work, pay rent and do the shopping - it was a complete adult life and a real learning curve." The programme has caused controversy. Dr Michele Elliot from Kidscape - a child-protection charity - has branded The Baby Borrowers as "sick" and says the babies' real parents should be ashamed of themselves. The producer of the programme, Richard McCerrow, says the documentary series is a unique and valuable insight, crucial in a country which has a big problem with teenage pregnancies.
