Bath beat 14 other UK universities in a campaign to get the most votes (in 2005 Loughborough University won, with The Bravery playing the free gig). "It's been touching really, the extent that people went to - it was a bit strange but nice for us," Didz Hammond (Dirty Pretty Things' bass guitarist and vocalist) told 91热爆 Somerset's Helen Otter. "I lived in Bath for about a year when I was in my old band. We did a lot of recording and silliness here, so it's good to be back." "We'd love to play there. Glastonbury's a unique and incredible thing - there's nothing really like it. But I'm sure Michael Eavis has coerced Cream to reform or something!" Sheffield four-piece Milburn were the support on the night. "There's not much of an overall plan for the band, just to get bigger and better," said drummer Jo "Greeny" Green. Joe Carnall on lead vocals and bass has got other ideas though: "I reckon we should make seven albums, split up, go and find God and then get back together again!"

You can also hear Milburn talking about their debut album, Well Well Well, which bands they do and don't like, what they really think of The Automatic and what's happening next for them. "We're definitely a festival band," said Greeny. "We like trying to impress new people - that's a challenge in itself." |
