Following safety inspections because of new licensing regulations, South Somerset District Council reduced the capacity of Yeovil Ski Lodge to just 200.

Will Blake runs Advance Promotions, which has put on gigs featuring top acts at the venue, many of which have been reviewed on the music pages of bbc.co.uk/somerset.

He had been concerned that "red tape" was going to threaten the future viability of gigs in Yeovil.

But he said: "The council are giving us full support and the venue will be back to normal (or better) in just a few weeks."

Speaking on 91热爆 Somerset Sound, Nigel Marston from South Somerset District Council said: "Crowds have been cut for a limited amount of time while further works are carried out.

"I had a meeting yesterday [12 June 2006] with the management at the Ski Lodge, and hopefully there will be new mesaures in place this week, which will increase the numbers back up to 320."
