| Gavin from Papa Shango |
We're heavily influenced by '70s rockers Thin Lizzy and the very early funk material by Red Hot Chili Peppers. We like to think of our material as a combination of the two, combining some funky bass lines and guitar riffs, with a hard-hitting rock crunch and plenty of guitar solos. How did the band gets its name? The band got its name from an '80s American wrestler. When we were deciding on a name, everyone was stuck for ideas so we thought we would search random words (like papa) on the internet.

Our most memorable gig would probably be when we played to a packed-out Strode Theatre - there was an audience of about 500 people there. Where would you most like to play? I suppose we're like the proverbial sheep, as we'd love to play the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury.
