You can also hear Sir Menzies talking about his plans for connecting with young people. "It's said that young people aren't interested in politics," he said. "That's not true - I'd say they are not interested in the existing political institutions, and a lot of politicians.

"That's our fault, and we have to do something about it. One of the ways our party will do this is to give people the vote at the age of 16. "In addition to that, young people are deeply concerned about the Third World, Africa and the environment. "These are huge political issues, and we must persuade young people that if they get engaged in politics, they can have influence over these events and over the policies that the government of the day follows." |
