Who are The Luscious Rickys? Ollie Owen - the poetic one. Sings la la las into the microphone. George Atherton - the pretty one. Man behind the riffage. Josh Mosley - the brut. Plays funky basslines. Simeon - the tall one. Whacks the b-jesus out of the drums. Where in Somerset are you from?
Taunton When did you form? We formed on a bench, whilst eating cheese-and-pickle sarnies. How did you get together? We met each other in many different situations, which would end up in either fights or hugs! After meeting each other at college, and many different parties, we decided to create a band that filled the huge whole in the music scene in Somerset - good looking, good songs and nice hair! How would you describe your music? Luscious, raw, energetic, beautiful and fantastic to dance to! How did the band gets its name?
The legend of Luscious Ricky grew up as the best-looking kid in the minds of our good friends, Tessa and Jess! Who are your musical influences? Each member of the band have been brought up on many various styles of music - from prog metal, to Madonna, to The Smiths, to The Libertines. We also have a little thing about ABBA and their nice basslines! What is your most memorable gig so far? As we have only been together for just over one month, we haven't had many gigs! But supporting The Infadels at Club Aura was rather delightful, and also George's garage was quite eventful! Where would you most like to play?
Anywhere! Living rooms, your bedroom, warehouses, shop windows. Deller's Wharf would be nice. And oh, headlining Glastonbury sounds like fun! Finally, tell us some interesting facts about yourself We all have a passion for good sarnies, floral shirts, Mod clothing, ABBA, brilliant pop songs, and we love to have naps together! |
