Who are Start? Laurence Collins on guitar; Kenny Briggs on guitar; Dave Taylor on drums and vocals; and Mike Gutsell on bass and vocals. Where in Somerset are you from? Weston-super-Mare When did you form? 2005 How did you get together? Laurence and Mike played together in a punk band in 1979, before going their separate ways in 1980. A couple of years ago, they got back in touch through Friends Reunited, realised they still wanted to play, recruited Dave and Ken and the rest is history...Ìý How would you describe your music? We play a full set of punk covers - The Jam, The Buzzcocks, Sex Pistols, etc.ÌýWe also play a lot of our own material, which varies in style from fast and punky to quite fast and punky. How did the band gets its name? Through a long and tedious process devised by Laurence, involving at least 20 rounds of voting, and ratification by the UN Security Council. Who are your musical influences? Guess! What is your most memorable gig so far? Posh black-tie do, wrong band booked, nuff said! Where would you most like to play? Germany - we keep talking about it and never get around to it. Finally, tell us some interesting facts about yourself We will be recording an EP (if they still exist) in late 2006.
