Who are The Lesser Known? Stu Baylis on bass, Tom Fuller on lead guitar, Lee Munckton on drums (and cowbell), Tommy Read on vox, and Patrick Smith on rhythm. Where in Somerset are you from? Crewkerne, Chard, Ilminster... that kinda shizzle When did you form?
In 2001 How did you get together? The Lesser Known, or TLK as we have been lovingly dubbed, began with the coming together of five sixth-form students. Since that fateful lunchtime, TLK have written many rocking and awesomegasmic songs, such as Alice and Sugar Honey. How would you describe your music? We're a classic rock band with a modern edge. The sweeping guitar solos, the funky drum and bass meltdowns, and face-melting vocals mean you are never far away from a revolution in rock history. How did the band gets its name? We threw doves into the air with words attached to their legs, and then got Patrick to talk to them. The ones that died of boredom first were "the", "known" and "lesser". A bit of magical adjustment, and the future was there in front of us. Who are your musical influences? AC/DC, Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Coldplay What is your most memorable gig so far?
:D - the best gig was playing to more than 1000 people with The Wurzels. Take away the cornyness, and you've got yourself a big show with a lot of people rocking to the TLK's music. Another kick-ass show was when the band played Flicks' Battle of the Bands competition. We were up against some stiff emo-flavoured competition, and, against all odds, we pulled away with a win for being AC/DC! Where would you most like to play? Glastonbury, of course, like all proper bands - headlining the main stage at night with 150,000 people watching us, having the Kaiser Chiefs and Babyshambles being our road crew whilst calling us sir. Finally, tell us some interesting facts about yourself - Tommy is a vegetarian and once shot himself in the eye with a bottle of champagne
- Patrick is tall (in fact he's two short people on top of one another). He also has double glazing, and neighbours that don't mind
- Tom never "wears" clothes... he models them ;)
