Who are Finest Little Space? Jonner on vocals, acoustic guitar and sometimes keyboard if he can be bothered to set it up; Neil Gay on guitar, noises, and vocals; Joe on guitar, percussion, and vocals; Jodie on bass guitar; and Jason Cook on drums. Where in Somerset are you from? Bath When did you form? May 2003 How did you get together? The band was originally started by Neil Gay and Jonner. They then recruited Joe, and the three began to play acoustic nights everywhere. On hearing about the band, Jodie flew back from South America to play bass, and Jason joined after the band's chance meeting with someone he knew when everyone was a bit drunk. We spent last year developing our sound, learning to be good, and recording two demos. How would you describe your music? When we first started, people always said we sounded like Radiohead, but now we have a more distinctive sound of our own. It's somewhere between Muse, Doves and Franz Ferdinand. How did the band gets its name? It's the name of a song by another band. If we told you which one, it would be cheating. Who are your musical influences? Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Pavement, Jeff Buckely, Coldplay, War of the Worlds What is your most memorable gig so far? The Battle of the Bands gig at Moles in Bath. It was quite stressful, because it was a competition, but we won the audience vote in the end. It was a great opportunity to get ourselves noticed and meet other local bands. Where would you most like to play? Glastonbury Festival! We entered the competition last year and got short-listed, but didn't win. Let's hope we have better luck this year.
