It wasn't long before we hooked up with our long-term friend and bassist, Ben. Early 2004, we recruited Matt D on piano, and in the middle of 2004, we asked our mate's sister if she wanted to play cello in our band. She did, and our bond with her has grown strong since then. We have always aimed to treat our music like a living being, so it's constantly evolving. We don't want to be classified into a single genre, so we try to be as experimental as possible so as not to create any boundaries. At the moment, our music is a mixture of Joy Division, Pink Floyd, The Mars Volta and The Cure. How did the band gets its name? Televised Anti-Fiction is a long journey in which a man (Solar Plexus) gets caught up in an intense time-travel experience, through which any alterations could rip a vast hole in the material of space. Travelling through space and dimensions, he will make the right or wrong decisions, ultimately saving or destroying his life. Who are your musical influences? The Mars Volta, At The Drive-In, Radiohead, And They Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails, Manic Street Preachers, Mogwai, Joy Division, The Pixies, Sonic Youth, The Cure, Chopin, Holst, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zepplin, Santana, Pink Floyd, and Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band.
