The Haze
The Haze used to be called Vox Populi

The Haze

Meet Jon, Dom, James and Ross, who together are The Haze. Find out how they got together, what their musical influences are, and even what they're allergic to!

Who are The Haze?

Jon Bentley on rhythm guitar and vocals, Dom Mitchison on lead guitar and backing, James Scrancher on bass and backing, Ross Fowler on drums.

When did you form?

In 2002.

How would you describe your music?

The Haze
The Haze would love to play at Glasto

We broadly describe it as rock. Music is music, you need to listen to know what it sounds like. Clichés... mmmm.

How did the band gets its name?

Formerly known as Vox Populi, the band decided on a final name change after a long line of them. The Haze is here to stay.

Who are your musical influences?

Led Zep, Muse, Radiohead, Hendrix, Foo Fighters, Jeff Buckley, At the
Drive-In, Mars Volta, Outkast, Cooper Temple Clause, John Lee Hooker, John Martyn, Miles Davis, Trance and more.

What is your most memorable gig so far?

The gig where we have come closest to playing to a level we want to be at, was Moles Club in Bath. A great crowd, very responsive (or drunk), and extremely enjoyable.

Where would you most like to play?

Glastonbury Festival.Ìý It's the best place to be in the world anyway, so why not play to lots of people who are having a great time, at the same time?

Finally, tell us some interesting facts about yourself.

One member of the band is allergic to hops.
One member of the band is a carpenter.
One member of the band sleeps considerably more than the rest, and was once late for work in his own house.
One member of the band once built a stage for Status Quo.
