On the Care not Repair tours, you will be able to find out how the National Trust staff care for the castle's historic contents, and what happens when the building is 'put to bed' for the winter. Questions answered If you have visited Dunster Castle before, and have wondered why the heaters are on all summer or why the house is so dark inside on a bright sunny day, your questions won't need to go unanswered for much longer. Jackie Webber, who is House Steward, says that visitors often comment on the castle's homely feel. "It's achieved through our team of friendly and knowledgeable room stewards, the dedicated cleaning regime and the addition of fresh flowers from the castle gardens," Jackie says. "These tours will give visitors the chance to see the hard work that goes on behind the scenes - dusting will never be seen in the same light again!" Advance booking needed The Care not Repair tours take place between 10am and 1pm on Saturday 13 November and Wednesday 17 November.
