Director Vipul Shah is renowned for making movies like Aankhen and Waqt - Race Against Time, based on real life situations.

With Namastey London, he portrays the cultural, patriotic and religious clashes of second generation Asians living in the UK.

One such case focuses on Jasmeet (or Jazz). She is in love with her thrice divorced boss, Charlie Brown, much to the dismay of her parents Mr and Mrs Singh (Rishi Kapoor and Nina Wadia).

In order to instil some Indian values into their daughter, Jazz's parents decide to go on a trip to India.

But what begins as a sight seeing tour ends up in matchmaking sessions with possible suitors. This is portrayed in a hilarious fashion.

Jazz eventually gets coaxed into an arranged marriage with Arjun (Akshay), the son of her father's friend.

But on the couple's wedding night, the family returns to London only to discover that Jazz has no intentions of accepting Arjun as her husband.

Instead, she is determined to marry her English boyfriend.

Caught in this emotional tug-of-war between father and daughter, is poor Arjun, who is helplessly and hopelessly in love with his beautiful but unyielding wife.

And so begins Arjun's journey in a strange land amongst strange people in a quest to win over his wife.

Vipul Shah leaves no room to ponder as the characters are introduced with speed enhanced by crisp editing.

Song sequences blend well with on-screen situations which audiences can relate to, at some stage in their lives.

Katrina Kaif as Jazz is on top form as the spoilt British brat, proving yet again that given the right dialogues and the right directorial guidance, this beautiful actress can give an award winning performance.

Akshay Kumar, reels out the right emotions evoking sympathy of a helpless husband trying to win over his wife's love.

Rishi Kapoor and Nina Wadia provide the humorous moments whilst Clyde Stenden is excellent as Jazz's fiancé.

This family entertainer is Vipul's most accomplished work to date. A definite must see!
