Anjali
(Kareena Kapoor) has been brought up well by her Canadian mother and
her Indian father (Kabir Bedi). She has learnt the importance of honesty
in lifeas she grew up.

But
there is one thing she has hidden from her parents. It's a secret
she reveals only to her sister Aarti (Susmita Sen).
Anjali's
secret is her love for Raja (Akshay Kumar). He is a talented fusion
musician who does not have much money.
But
this does not deter Anjali who is besotted by her new found love.
Aarti
promises Anjali and Raja that she will convince their parents. But
that time never arrives because destiny plays a cruel trick on the
lovers.

Anjali
finds herself married to a much older man, Aditya (Anil Kapoor).
Aditya
Sahai (Anil Kapoor), is a businessman. He is a workaholic with no
time for his beautiful young wife or his two adorable daughters.
It
is not a marriage based on love or compatibility. It is simply a
compromise dictated by destiny.
So
cocooned in wealth and trapped in a loveless marriage, Anjali has
only one outlet for all the love within her - Aditya's two little
daughters.
And
then suddenly, into her life walks Raja, the only man she has ever
loved.

So when she finally tries to seek her own happiness she is branded
a bewafaa, a film directed by Dharmesh Darshan.
Anil
Kapoor has played the lover boy in many films. Here, we get to see
him as the serious and reserved Aditya Sahai. This is a man who
speaks little, but feels deeply.
Akshay
Kumar is Raja, whose look in the film is totally different from
all his previous releases to date - a great deviation from his Khiladi
roles.
Kareena Kapoor sheds her 'Poo' image in this film. She plays a sensitive
and emotional character of a woman in love and also a caring mother.
Sushmita
Sen is Aarti who infuses life and vibrancy into her role.
Bewaafa
is directed by Dharmesh Darshan of the Dhadkan and Raja
Hindustani fame. The film is releasing on 25th February 2005
by EROS International in the UK.
