BORN: Liverpool in a back to back terrace near the docks. We really did have a tin bath on the back door! The house went in slum clearance so when I was five we moved to a wonderful council estate called Norris Green.
FAMILY: Married to writer and journalist Roger with one child, Tony who's nine.
CV:Ormskirk Advertiser, Catholic Pictorial, BRMB (Birmingham), Red Rose Radio (Preston), Northwest Tonight, File on 4, Today Programme, You and Yours.
BEST MOMENT IN CAREER: Interviewing slippery seller of bogus holidays on You and Yours and having his replies to customers to hand when he denied knowledge of complaints.
WORST MOMENT IN CAREER: Asking David Mellor to hurry during a Today Programme phone interview as we needed to go to the weather bulletin. Clearly annoyed, he hung up immediately, leaving me to fill for 40 seconds!
PET HATES: Bad manners, jargon particularly of the manageria,l 'moving forward, rolling out, and issues' variety. Perennial weeds, in particular groundelder.
PET LOVES: Husband, son, Dad and sisters all in Liverpool, gardening.
MY WEEKEND: Is usually spent at home. We always get up early, Tony sees to that. Sometimes we have friends over or we go to Liverpool to see the family and occasionally to Blackpool to stay with my best friend Kath. A Saturday highlight would be lunch in the village pub. Sundays is usually church and a roast. I know, I don't know how I stand all the excitement.
