Women proving themselves on the drums

While female singers and guitarists have gained respect and success in the world of rock and pop, women choosing to play drums seem to have a greater struggle on their calloused hands.

So, why would any woman want to play drums?

As the music festival season draws to a close, Woman's Hour talks to a handful of women drummers, including Caroline Corr of The Corrs, and finds out why there is more to keeping to the beat than brute strength.Ìý
