The ballroom craze
Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers were romantic, glamorous and moved as one, but, of course, they were never partners in real life - they just faced the music and danced.
Lots of couples do the same thing. Judi Herman has been following ballroom enthusiasts including Debbie and Lionel who've danced together three times a week for the past twelve years.
She's also been watching Anita Wright rehearsing a play called Ballroom which opens today in Hammersmith, home of the legendary Palais.
For details of dances run by
John Retallack's 'Ballroom' is showing at the Riverside Studios, Hammersmith from 17-22 August.
