The AfghanÌýathlete who can finally take part in the Olympics

More than two hundred countries are sending athletes to the Athens Olympics this month. It's a record number and includes countries like Afghanistan which didn't compete four years ago.

During the Sydney Olympics, female runners like Rubina Muqimyar were forced to stay indoors, unable to train. The country's only sports stadium was used for public executions and amputations carried out under the Taliban reign.

But now seventeen year old Rubina is preparing to compete for the first time and she'll also be carrying the Afghan flag at the opening ceremony. Irris Makler met her in Kabul.
