What can classical music do for young people?

How do you get children interested in, and playing along with, classical music? Why is it too often only middle-class kids who end up in orchestras? WouldÌýit be better to let children learn about music by starting with pop or rap instead?

The dynamic Atarah Ben-Tovim, artistic director of Children's Classic Concerts, and music teacher Leonora Langley join Jenni toÌýtalk about what classical music can do for young people.

Let The Children Sing by Leonora Langley is published byThe Book Guild Ltd, ISBN 1857768728

Children's Classic Concerts, Royal Festival Hall, London, Sunday 6 Jun,11am
