Ìý Obesity 31ÌýMay 2004 Ìý
Is it really bad for your health?

If you're overweight at the moment - you're probably in a panic as the war on fat becomes a primary plank of preventative medicine. The House of Commons Committee on Health warns that today's children could be the first generation to die before their parents in the wake of a 3 year old who died from heart failure because she weighed 6 stones.Ìý

But an American academic in a book called the Obesity Myth is standing up against this current tide of opinion. Jenni talks to Nichola Scanlon who works for the charity Weight Concern, and to the book's author Professor Paul Campos.

The Obesity Myth: Why America's Obsession with Weight Is Hazardous to Your HealthÌýwill be published soon by Penguin Books
