What is the legacy of the woman branded the 'English Marilyn Monroe'?

Today isÌýthe 20th anniversary ofÌýthe deathÌýDiana Dors. She was the most sexual of British actresses in the post-war years,Ìýwith a flair for self-publicity and a stormy private life.

By the early seventies she had switched largely to televised roles, often appearing in variety and quiz shows. When she died in 1984, there was a sense that the British entertainment world had lost an institution.

Jenni Murray discusses Diana Dors’ life and legacy with Josephine Botting of the British Film Institute.
