Ìý Baby Café 13 January 2004 Ìý
Breastfeeding is promoted as the most natural thing in the world, beneficial to mother and baby alike - but still not everybody feels comfortable doing it in public.

There can't be many mothers who have never suffered the sidelong glances of disapproval in a restaurant or café;. The first Baby Café; was set up in Haywards Heath in Sussex to give women somewhere to meet with their babies and to give anyone who's having difficulties some support.

Now more of the cafes are springing up across the country - the ninth opens in Newcastle this month.

Lizz Pearson went to Haywards Heath to meet the customers.. and the breastfeeding specialists, Julie Williams and Catherine Pardoe, who came up with the idea in the first place
