Ìý Historical Abuse Monday 24 November 2003 Ìý
The abuse of children in care homes has been one of the great scandals of recent times. Extensive police operations to identify abusers have led to a large number of convictions.

But has the determination to secure justice for the victims tipped the balance too far against defendants - those who worked in care homes as much as twenty years ago?
Jenni talks to one woman whose husband was released from jail after the Court of Appeal heard that some of those making allegations fabricated evidence to secure compensation.
Tracey Storey, who represents the Association of Child Abuse Lawyers and solicitor Chris Saltrese join Jenni to discuss how best to help genuine victims without risking further miscarriages of justice.
