Ìý Honour Killings Monday 3 November 2003 Ìý
Characterised in the press as clashes of East meets West, Woman's Hour goes behind the headlines, to examine the pressures that lead to so-called 'honour killings'. We travel to Turkey to look at one town that's suffered a spate of such crimes. And in the light of a number of recent cases of women in Britain's ethnic communities being murdered by family members, we explore how we define 'honour'.

Jenni and Hanana Siddiqui of Southall Black Sisters, and Usha Sood, a lectuere in law at Nottingham Trent niversity, discuss whether we should use race or gender to try to prevent such attacks taking place.
