Ìý Jamaican Mules Thursday 21 August 2003 Ìý
It's been nicknamed Cocaine Air and it's the route travelled by hundreds of drug mules every year between Jamaica and Britain.

Many of these couriers are poverty-stricken single mothers and when they get caught they face long sentences in British jails far from their families. Now, more than half of all foreign female offenders are from Jamaica. Anna McNamee met some of them.
Baroness Linklater, Chair of the Rethinking Crime and Punishment committee, Paul Goggin, Prison Minister from the 91Èȱ¬ Office and Michael Oban, Editor of Jamaican newspaper UK Gleaner, join Jenni to discuss what can be done to lessen the burden of these foreign guests.
Details of Charity: Hibiscus, 18 Borough High Street, London SE1 9QG. Tel: 020 7357 6543, e-mail: fpwphibiscus@aol.com
