A Manchester dietician in collaboration with the University of Minnesota has discovered that a woman's weight plays a profound role in the development of breast cancer.
Those women who managed to lose weight before the menopause, or whose weight remained steady, were 40% less likely to develop the disease.
Dr Michelle Harvie from the Nightingale Centre in Withington and one of the authors of the study and Helen Wilkins join Jenni to discuss the findings of the research and what it means for menopausal women. For more information please call the 91Èȱ¬ Actionline on 0800 044 044.
