In 1926 Marie Rambert formed Britain's first ballet company, Ballet Rambert. Forty years later she helped turn it into Britain's first modern dance company.
This year the company celebrates its 75th anniversary with a season under the artistic direction of her protégé Christopher Bruce.
Henrietta Otley went to meet Rambert's daughter Angela Ellis at the company's West London studios.
