How much is music influenced by literature and how much can it be an influence?

Anne Dudley has composed a piece which will be premiered tonight at the Royal Festival Hall, based on Rose Tremain's Whitbread Award winning novel Music and Silence.
Anne will be talking about why the novel inspired her to write the music and Rose will be explaining how a seventeenth century orchestra playing in the cellar of the Royal Court in Denmark, influenced her to write the book in the first place.
Wednesday 18 September, Royal Festival Hall, 91Èȱ¬ Concert Orchestra play a new work by Anne Dudley called Music and Silence
