Until the shocking headlines this July, the idea of an IVF mix-up was seen as so unlikely as to be the stuff of fiction.
A new 91Èȱ¬ drama will explore the emotional fall-out of just such a situation. Ella and the Mothers, adapted from the novel by Rachel Morris, mirrors the current scandal in which a white couple has had black twins following IVF treatment.
This case is the first of its kind in Britain and is expected to lead to a custody battle over which couples are the twins' legal parents.
