Ìý Cow Girls Monday 17 June 2002 Ìý
The National Cowgirl Museum open's its new premises in Fort Worth, Texas this month. It's the only museum in the world dedicated to honouring the lives of cowgirls - from champion rodeo rider Tad Lucas to Annie Oakley and her gun.

So what is the enduring attraction of the wild west for women today? In 1979 Jane Ko-ja, a fourth generation cowgirl from Kansas, bought her own piece of land. During the summer over a thousand head of cattle graze on her rich prairie grass but she's also offering city women the chance to play cowgirl for the week with holidays home on the range.
Sue Nelson took up her lasso to join them.
