Ìý Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Friday 9 November 2001 Ìý
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder , or ADHD, is currently thought to severely affect at least 2% of schoolchildren, but of those, only a fraction are being treated, putting pay to the myth that it's overdiagnosed.

Girls in particular are hard to diagnose as they present less obviously than boys.
Martha talks to Dr Geoff Kewley from the Learning Assessment Centre, who is the author of a book about ADHD, to find out more about this little-considered illness, and to dispose of some of the myths that surround it. Gill Kohler, the mother of a child with ADHD joins the discussion.
The Learning Assessment Centre is at 48-50 Springfield Road, Horsham, West Sussex, RH12 2PD, Tel: 01403 240002, Fax: 01403 260900.
Please click on the link for more details or you can call the Radio 4 Actionline on 0800 044 044. Dr Geoff Kewley is author of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder; Recognition, Reality and Resolution which is available via the Learning Assessment Centre.
