Ìý Professor Lola Young Wednesday 3 October 2001 Ìý
Professor Lola Young is Professor of Cultural Studies at Middlesex University and Project Director for the National Museum and Archive of Black History and Culture in London.

Lola quotes broadcaster Trevor Phillips as saying that 'British history is like a tapestry with all the black threads pulled out of it.'
The archive aims to 'put the black threads back in' and documents the rich and varied lives of Britain's black population from the 16th century.
She tells Jenni about her work.
