But these days almost anyone can have a go at flying birds of prey, thanks to the growing numbers of falconry displays. Fiona Clampin went to meet two women in Devon who bought a team of birds two years ago. Michelle Scriven and Miriam Nicholls are now showing them at Escot Park, a stately home and estate near Exeter.
