From Queensland to Governor General

For the first time in its 107 year history, Australia has appointed a woman as its Governor General. Quentin Bryce, the former state governor of Queensland and a prominent barrister and champion of women’s rights is the twenty fifth person to take up the post as the Queen’s representative in Australia. Jenni talks to Annabel Crabb, political columnist and sketch writer for the Sydney Morning Herald about the role and how she will tackle it. They are joined by Dr Frank Bongiorno, Senior Lecturer in Australian Studies at the Menzies Centre at King’s College, London.
