Saudi Arabia's most prominent women's rights activist
Wajeha Al-Huwaider is battling to change the status of women in Saudi Arabia, the only country in the world where women legally belong to men. This month King Abdullah appointed the first female minister in the kingdom’s history and the UN Human Rights Council urged Saudi Arabia to end human rights violations against women. Wajeha tells Jenni of her work to rid the country of its guardianship system, and how she would like to change the court system and give women equal rights to work.
