Child Sponsorship has been one of the most important tools used by charities to raise money for developing countries – but is it really the best way of giving?Ìý Some charities are dropping their child sponsorship schemes and there’s a debate about whether it is the best way to help children in developing countries. We hear fromÌýCoronation Street actress Sally Whittaker who has sponsored a girl in India for nearly 10 years andÌýdiscuss the pros and cons of child sponsorship with Richard Miller,Ìýexecutive director of Action Aid and Adam Rothwell,Ìýdirector of Intelligent Giving.
