The impact of violence on the country's women

An atmosphere of hope was described as Zimbabwe’s population went to the polls on 29 March. Now, in the wake of the opposition Movement for Democratic Change’s withdrawal from this week’s run-off, there appears to be an overriding sense of terror and violence, with widespread reports of systematic rape, torture and murder.
