New research suggests that greater numbers of women than men are developing multiple sclerosis. The American findings suggest that in the 1940s there were two women for every man with the disease, but that now the ratio is closer to four women for every man.ÌýÌýWhy do modern women seem to be more susceptible, andÌýwhat specific problems do they face?
