Eva JolyÌýand herÌýfight against top-level corruption 07ÌýFeb 2007
Eva Joly
For six years judge Eva Joly was in charge of investigating aÌýhalf aÌýbillion Euro scandal involving the French state-owned oil company Elf Aquitane. During the case, Eva herself faced regular death threats, her telephones were tapped and her home and offices burgled several times. As a result of her work, 30 people were convicted and senior members of President Mitterand’s government were implicated in the crime. She now works as a special advisor to the Norwegian government on money laundering and campaigns for tougher international action against fraud involving political and economic leaders.

Recently she strongly criticised the British Government for abandoning the serious fraud office inquiry into BAE System’s defence deals with Saudi Arabia. Jenni talks to Eva Joly about her battle to uncover corruption at the highest levels and her determination to see justice done.

'Justice Under Siege' is published by Arcadia Books, ISBN - 1905147465.
