Sudden Disability 18 Jan 2008
Coping with the impact of suddenly becoming disabled.

What's it like to suddenly becomeÌýdisabled - to have a stroke, say, or a dramatic accident that means that life is never quite the same again? What if you were someone who was physically active, busy at work, and then found yourself in need of care? As part of ourÌý season, we hear personal testimony and find out what kind of social, practical, and emotional support is of most help. Jane talks to Harriet Gaze, who had a stroke 3 years ago, Paul Smith of the Spinal Injuries Association and Ann Hurley of Headway.
