How do you a prepare a child for the loss of their mum or dad?

The ChannelÌý4Ìýtelevision series the Mummy Diaries showed families dealing with the trauma ofÌýhaving a mother diagnosed with incurable cancer. They had pre-bereavement counselling with Julie Stokes, from the charity Winston's Wish. But can you reallyÌýprepare a child for the loss of a parent? And what services are available to help?ÌýJulie joins Jane, along withÌýBarbara Monroe from St Christopher’s Hospice in LondonÌýand Steve Curtis whose wife died during the making of the series.
