It's four o'clock, and the children come home from school.ÌýThey claim to be starving, and raid the biscuit tin and the cupboard for thoseÌýunhealthy crisps and snacks.
At a time when childhood obesity is on the rise, snacking is not a good idea.ÌýAnd lying behind the after school snack is the broader issue of the decline of the traditional family mealtime.ÌýChildren are increasingly eating what they want, when they want.
Between 4 and 7pm, is a difficult time for parents – the gap between school and their return from home.ÌýBut is after-school hunger symbolic of a hunger for parental attention?ÌýIf so, what can parents do about it, at least in culinary terms?
